I may not be an environmentalist but when I came across this certain post; I was pleased to see some initiative being taken to protect the environment. Yes, of late human activities have laid a threat to our environment which in turn is a threat to existence of mankind. Margaret Mead, the renowned anthropologist, was right when she said - We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment.

Those who do not know, Cadmium and Lead in mobile phones can cause severe troubles to our environment. Also, the high use of mobiles is adding to global warming.  Well, the environmentalists will be glad to know that Samsung is soon going to bring out an eco-friendly mobile handset that is built out of non-toxic materials. In fact, the novel Samsung cell phone is made of waste plastic after recycling these harmful plastic discarded as garbage.

‘Blue Earth’, as the Samsung phone is named, is supposed to be first available in Sweden somewhere by the end of the month of October, 2009.  The rest of the world will see the Blue Earth sometime after its release in Sweden. Samsung’s environment friendly mobile handset is made of non-toxic materials. In fact, the phone is a consequence of recycled waste plastic. There is so much being talked and discussed about steps the world has to take to prevent the degradation of environment and as an effort to keep the environment healthy and free of toxin, Samsung has actually taken a step in the from of its new phone ‘Blue Earth’.  In this severe situation where the world is confronted with a dreadful danger of degrading environment, making use of the plastic that we dispose in the bin into a harmless, Samsung’s eco-friendly cell phone, although with only basic features, is applaudable.
